Howdy World! It’s me Jordan, miss me? I know it has been a few days since I wrote, but damn I got shit to do in my life. So what has been happening lets see……
I woke up the other day and my world was spinning. I am praying its a one-off. The next day, I was still spinning. Today though, nothing, so I am thankful. I ended up making a Dr’s apt anyway on my birthday none the less because I feel like I need to get my health in order as well. I found a spot on my back that wasn’t there a few months ago, and my gramps had melanoma so I am NOT playing that game. Better to be safe than sorry.
So I did end up going to see Oklahoma!
What a weird fucking musical. Now I will start this by saying I had NO idea what this musical was about, besides Oklahoma. By the end, there were people covered in fake blood, singing, and I was just like what the fuck just happened? There is a few parts of this updated production that has the stage go dark and you just hear the actors talking or singing. One of these times, the main character “Curly” is trying to convince “Judd” to kill himself with a gun. Because people will only miss him when he is dead. And it is long. It really didn’t sit right with me. Not only that, but when the characters come back on stage, there is someone with a camera literally an inch from their face and its blown up on the back of the stage 3 stories high. So watching someone sing to another person to kill himself while he cries in the dark, is just not right.

What I will say is the actress who played Ado Annie was phenomenal. The character is portrayed by the actress known as Sis. She is a larger than life personality who has her heart set on love. Ado Annie and Will stole the show for me, more so than the main characters. If you go see it, see it for the supporting cast. Also, I won these tickets. This was the second set of tickets I’ve won through Broadway in Chicago in a month (saw Frozen 3 weeks ago.) I was in the 4th row off the left aisle. It was amazing to be that close. I saw spit flying, and was glad the actors wore undergarments because I could see up skirts and everything. Sis cut her leg a song into it, kept bleeding, came back with a band-aid. Never stopped, pure professional. Also, the stage is weird. It doesn’t change AT ALL. So this is what you see. I did get sprayed when dude shook up a “beer” and threw it into the audience.

Besides that, I am working this weekend. My last full weekend of work. We hired someone who is going to be taking over Sunday so I only will have to work Saturdays from now on, and that isn’t bad at all. Its tax season, and if you know anyone who works in the library, or anyone familiar, its fucking nuts. People are crazy for some fee tax prep.
