Just Don’t!

How has everyone been doing? Well I hope. Things have been alright, yet chaotic on this side of the fence.

I have been working the weirdest hours, and its all my own fault. I live in the town where I work. I am less than 1 mile away. So, I am super flexible when it comes to needing to come in at weird times. However. I am also a routine person. I can’t function unless I am doing things the same way, continuously, over a long period of time. When I do these weird hour days, it throws me off totally.

I can’t seem to find a sleep rhythm that gets me good enough sleep to function the rest of the week. I also can’t pin down the rest of my week because it is just all over the place. I am determined to get a more set schedule. The good thing is that my boss is an amazing person and will totally work with me. I understand the need to be flexible, but if I bend to far, I will snap.

I leave next month for a trip to Puerto Rico. I am excited because I am going to finally get my open water scuba diving certification. The plan was originally to do all of this in Mombasa, Kenya, but all those plans went to hell.

Our original plans had us doing 8 days in Mombasa where I would learn to open water scuba. Well, with less than 2 months to go, Kenya Airways changed my flight 5x in 24 hours. Because of this, connections didn’t match up, and I would end up losing out on 2 days of vacation. They REFUSED to work with me. Wouldn’t give me compensation for the lost time. So, what do I do? I canceled the entire trip. I am not about to lose out on DAYS of vacation because of your own stupid issues. It was really annoying because I had it all planned out. I had booked our scuba trips. I had booked a 2 day safari to Tsavo West National Park. It was all for nothing. But, I wasn’t going to let it stop me from getting the hell out of this country for a bit, so that is where Puerto Rico came in.

I booked us a condo next to the ocean for 6 days. I have booked us 2 days of scuba diving. One will be near the island of Culebra. One off the coast of Fajardo. Other than that, nothing. I need to relax. My issues when I travel is that I am so hyper focused on EVERYTHING, that I can’t relax. I JUST WANT TO RELAX this vacation. My brain, my mental health, all of it needs a reboot. My plan for this vacation is flat underwater, see fishes, sleep, do nothing.

At the moment I am reading Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. Just finished Eruption by Criton & Patterson.

If nobody has told you lately, remember that you are amazing!
