Well I’ll Be Damned!

I’m Alive!!!!

Fuck it has been over a month since I last posted. I have been pretty busy to be quite honest, and that is a good thing. Because when I get too much time on my hands…bad things happen!

Ok so what has happened in the last month? Hmmmm. Well I did go on a boat! SO a few years ago, my husband bought a canoe and has tried to get me to go in it and I have said no. I am 1000% terrified of open water. I do not know what is under it and because of the uncertainty, I am against it.

There is a picture of me white-knuckling it. I am so scared. The boat was rocking an rolling the whole time and I was shitting myself basically. It ended up actually being fun though. We had bought lunch and brought it with us, so we ended up eating sammiches in the middle of a lake.

Thanks Mr.Sub for the awesome food. And a special thanks to my hubs who dealt with all my drama. From screaming about bugs, to crying about the water you stuck with me. Thanks love!

Ok. So I gotta talk about this thing we’ve been working on. Nick decided that he wanted to make a teardrop camper. I said we should just buy a used one, but he wasn’t having it. So I ended up purchasing a book about teardrop campers, and he read it cover to cover. After that, there was no stopping his want / need to build one of these things.

So we started. Nick bought a trailer and put that together, and then we started working on the floor. I actually put work into this shit. I hate doing work when I don’t see an immediate result. So this is pretty hard because the whole thing can’t be done in a day or even a weekend, it is SO MANY HOURS OF WORK. I helped by drill holes into wood and then assembling the floor. I even cut out each piece of insulation and installed those.

We have also gone ahead and cut out what our walls are going to look like out of dry-wall. I really like how this is going to turn out if this actually goes as planned. We are putting a lot of work into this because…… I already booked a trip to Yellowstone the first week of September, so we have to get this thing street legal and approved for licensing. I ended up taking a photo of everything after we stepped away for a moment, and I liked it, so Im going to post it. It just goes to show the amount of work it takes to put this together, and ya’ll aren’t even seeing the 1/2 of it. We have ordered windows, porthole windows, doors, locks, plexiglass for a stargazer window, even a freaking solar panel to charge a battery to run our stuff off!

What else. Oh! So the day I ended up getting COVID was the day we had gotten all of our plants from a nursery. Well, in the month since I’ve been off I’ve been working on my little garden. This past week I was finally able to pull some produce!

lil baby snow pea

From all the things that we grew, the first things we got were little baby snow peas and yellow wax beans. Now that they are growing, they won’t stop. Even with just 2 people we are finding it hard to eat it all so we are also giving it away to friends and family.

Yellow Wax Bean!

I will say that what we have pulled and eaten so far has actually been good. I put the beans in a Sheppard’s Pie and they added a perfect crunch factor. And I love snow peas, Ill eat them prepared anyway, so they are just awesome. We do have a crazy amount of tomatillos growing as well as poblano peppers, but they are still babies, can’t wait for them to come in because I LOVE salsa verde! Slow and steady wins the race, especially in gardening.

Last thing for the moment. I dyed my hair. 1/2 pink. Kept my natural on the other half.

Sorry, I’m cute

Now normally, I don’t dye my hair. I haven’t in actually a year or two. I was feeling some type of way the other day and went crazy. Only took the push of one co-worker to take the jump. I went with Pink because why not cause the most drama with the least work? People like it though. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments and the kids think its awesome. If you don’t know, part of my job as a children’s librarian is storytime and my kids love me. When they saw pink hair, I got 100,000,000 questions, and none were negative. Kids are awesome when they choose to be.

That is all I got. I am tired and don’t want to type anymore so I am going to leave. But, before I go, I have to remind ya’ll that you, yes YOU are AMAZING! Don’t you forget it. And, if you think your alone, you aren’t. I am always here to lend an ear. Have an amazing day ya’ll.
